LOWER MISSION CREEK
FLOOD CONTROL & HABITAT IMPROVEMENTS
Santa Barbara, CA
2013 - On Going
HYDRAULIC ENGINEERING | STRUCTURE DESIGN | GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
The lower reaches of Mission creek in Santa Barbara wind through the heart of the city past countless homes and businesses as it makes its way into the ocean. Bengal was hired to make critical improvements to the Creek Corridor. Bengal has designed most of the creek channels between highway 101 & the outfall into the ocean. The County anticipates breaking ground on construction upstream of highway 101 in summer of 2021. Although the designs of these flood control channels are to protect the public and vital infrastructure, these lower reaches also include built in structures to provide habitat for local aquatic wildlife.
